Wide-ranging health and safety training is vitally important in today’s workplace. Health and safety work conditions are, in fact, regulated carefully by the government. The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 “requires you to provide whatever information, instruction, training and supervision is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of your employees.”
In 1999, this law was expanded upon by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which identifies situations where health and safety training is particularly important, such as when new employees begin a job, where employees become exposed to changing risk levels, or where existing skills may need updating due to equipment changes or process changes.
At ARAMARK Environmental Services, we are dedicated to delivering effective training to raise awareness of occupational hazards and risks and to educate employees on developing good health and safety habits, which is key in avoiding accidents in the workplace.
Studies show that commitment to staff health and safety training will boost morale; improve productivity; and reduce staff turnover, compensation claims and legal action. A health and safety violation could be detrimental to everyone involved. Not only could an employee become injured, but the employer would have to pick up the tab for lost production time and decreased word output by other employees.
Our health and safety training program includes, but is not limited to:
- Manual handling guidelines
- Work at height requirements
- Asbestos awareness
- Fire warden training
