Corporate Responsibility

Our Responsibility

As market leaders, ARAMARK Ireland aspires to be a socially responsible company and we have put significant focus across the four recognised areas of Corporate Responsibility. Globally, ARAMARK operates within similar pillars ; Health & Wellness, Employee Advocacy, Community Involvement & Environmental Stewardship. We are continually developing strategies to help make a positive impact on the environment in which we operate. At ARAMARK Ireland,  Corporate Responsibility initiatives are led by Iris Wade, Corporate Responsibility Coordinator, and backed by the Board of Directors.

Health & Wellness

Consumers now demand to know more about the food they are eating. Our Food Services division is committed to increasing the range of healthy options across all of our restaurants. We encourage healthy eating through marketing, promotions and awareness campaigns.  In 2008, we launched our Right Track programme, aimed at creating an awareness of healthy eating and work life balance. ARAMARK Food Services continues to build on our Right Track healthy eating programme to ensure that we provide all customers with balanced, practical information and options to make the choice to eat healthily an easy one.

Employee Advocacy

We believe it is critical for our employees to understand what Corporate Responsibility really means. We encourage our colleagues to participate in responsible activities both through the company  or at home,  whether that’s joining in with community projects or switching to energy efficient light bulbs, conserving water and effective recycling practices.

We also believe it is very important our employees understand and partner with our clients in the pursuit of their Corporate Responsibility goals and we work closely to assist them achieve their targets.

Environmental Stewardship

ARAMARK Ireland is focused on reducing the carbon footprint of all owned / controlled properties. We are reviewing our own motor fleet, as well of that of our suppliers, to look at ways of reducing food miles through smarter distribution methods and the use of more locally-sourced products. In partnership with our suppliers, ARAMARK Ireland maximises our support of locally produced products. We support Irish farmers and food producers throughout the country and use locally sourced produce wherever possible. In 2010, we introduced our Celebrate Irish Food Campaign, focusing on supporting local produce and suppliers.

Recycling of waste and the conservation of energy are critical areas and ARAMARK Ireland can recommend ways to manage these areas in a more efficient manner. We recognise and reward both individual employees and teams that show initiative in addressing energy and environmental issues within their facilities.

We have a dedicated Environmental Services division within our business that work with our clients on a daily basis, implementing environmental best practise , cost saving initiatives and each year we publish a Corporate Responsibility activity report. For more details, please contact our Environmental Services team through our contact page.

Community Involvement

We provide the framework for ARAMARK Ireland employees to make a real difference and a positive impact to their local area and community in which the organisation operates.

ARAMARK Ireland encourages teams and individuals to take part in their own choice of activities and these are publicised both internally in our employee magazine, ‘Newswire’, and externally, often through the local and national media and our website. ARAMARK Ireland operates a charitable fund and recognises employees for their successful fundraising activities and contributes to their chosen charities. Each year, ARAMARK Ireland requests their employees to nominate the charities that they would like to support. Since 2008, we have raised over €170,000 for charities across the country.

We have raised over €22,000 as exclusive Catering Partners (since 2008) to the Odlums National Pancake Party in aid of the National Children's Hospital. ARAMARK Ireland also works closely with the Irish Cancer Society on their Daffodil day campaign, having raised over €24,000 to date.

In 2009, we launched a dedicated fundraising campaign which takes place each year - the ARAMARK Cupcake CampaignCupcake Button , which raises funds specifically for our nominated Charities through the ARAMARK Charitable Fund, to date we have raised over €15,000.
