ARAMARK team at Mayo General Wins

IHI Diversity Award 2009

ARAMARK Healthcare team at Mayo General Hospital has been crowned winner of the Catering Operations category at the 2009 Irish Hospitality Institute Diversity Awards.  The prestigious IHI Awards are funded by the Office of the Minister for Integration and recognise companies and individuals who embrace diversity and equality within the Irish hospitality and tourism industry.

The winning ARAMARK team at Mayo General Hospital comprises of over 90 employees from 7 countries, including 5 employees with special needs.  The team was awarded for encouraging diversity and integration in the workplace through various initiatives including the development of a multilingual staff training manual to assist new employees in understanding their roles and the introduction of cultural theme days where foreign employees provide a taste of their culture and food to customers and staff. 

The ARAMARK team was also recognised for its contribution to the training and employment of people with disabilities.
